Its only weird if it doesn’t work.  Like most of America, I watched the Super Bowl yesterday.  It seemed strange for a number of reasons, one being it was the fiftieth Super Bowl, and that somehow just does not seem possible?  As I have been around for quite a few of them personally, and the numbers, well, they just sort of always add up not necessarily in my favor these days.

Another thing that was different is this.  I hard drived the game (DVR’ed it) and did not actually watch the game as it unfolded and the drama increased, we watched the last three minutes of the contest and that was it.  As I am not a great football fan anymore, I taped it in order to see the commercials, which I now consider to be the best part of all of it.

imgres-1

Funny how habits sort of get ingrained into a person.  I am so used to “skipping the commercials” and watching the main body of the program.  Now for this event, I had to reverse the procedure, and it took some getting used to.  I finally managed to master it, but it was tough, that and seeing the Niner’s lose, I wasn’t all that keen on that either.

This is a pretty good video, it wasn’t on the Super Bowl, but you will find it amusing.

Shopping at the Costco Fish Market.

The Great American Free lunch:  The Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2011, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid, and other benefits, the average US household below the poverty line received $168 (my note, 7 days a week) in government support.  What’s the problem with that much support?

Last time I even bothered to check, the median household income in America was just over $50,000 per year, which averages out to $137.13 per day.  To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of about $30 an hour for a 40-hour week, while the average job pays $25 an hour.  And then there is the person who works who has to pay taxes, which drops the pay to $21 an hour.

It is no wonder that welfare is now the biggest part of the budget, more than Social Security or defense.  And why would anyone want to get off welfare when working pays $9 an hour less.

Another great thing about welfare versus working … No drug screening for anyone, just sign up and wait on the money to come rolling in.  For more of the report you can find it here.

Crayon’s before bullets:  While I am up here on my soapbox.  One of our American Hero’s was taken out this weekend by a gun, and there is more negative news about firearms in the media.  It all seems so far fetched out of of sync for me.  Our so-called cures for societal problems are directed at the symptoms rather than the causes. We can’t keep throwing money at a broken education system, or its victims. We can’t guarantee raising well-behaved, normal children in broken, drug-dependent or parentless families.

Taking guns from law-abiding citizens will only deepen the lawlessness of criminals. Taking God out of our schools and society, and legitimizing every type of deviant moral, physical and psychological behavior, dooms American society to a continued descent into more violence, self-centered behavior and immorality. Society won’t improve until America returns to her roots.

If we truly want to solve most of American society’s problems, return America to its founding principles. Otherwise, we commit societal suicide.

Munday-Munday:  I got those wake up its early, wash behind your ears they’re dirty, eat your eggs and oatmeal, rush to work blues.  I just do not do Monday’s all that well anymore … Most folks believe heart attacks occur on Monday, but the majority of them knock you down on Wednesday, not the first of the week as erroneously presumed.  And they hit at 10 A.M. (or thereabouts) quick check your watch.

That is one of those mysteries of life, you know things that do not add up.

Why is it that every black guy in prison in the movies is named “Red?”  That would be one.  How come some guy born in Kansas City that happens to be black is now called an African American?  He aint African anything.  Why does the late Patrick Swayze look both ways before crossing the street in the movie Ghost?  I mean hell, he is a ghost, an errant cab or a delivery truck cannot hurt him.  Strange doin’s on a Monday.

One more and I am outta here … If evolution is true as they say, then why do Mother’s only have one set of hands?

Think about it ….

Taxing Issues

PSA:  First off, yesterday I hit the publicize button on WordPress.com and after going thru all the procedures I discovered that the various sites had sent out all of this material (emails) to invite people and all this other crap.  Not that I am the sharpest knife in the drawer on most days, I did not know this was going to happen.  If it seriously inconvenienced you or caused you unnecessary concern, I apologize for that.   Please accept my sincere apologies if it did. (One of these days I will figure all this technical ____ out and all will be fine) erThis cartoon I came across this week has to me the “wrong flavor” to it.  It is misdirecting the information to reflect badly on people with income and I do not find that a fair representation of the facts.  For my part in it, I will tell you there are a great many people in this country that are worried about possible new taxes and asset taxing to generate income for all these pig’s in Washington who do not have the guts to take the hard steps necessary to end this mess (cuts in spending, start with defense and work your way down).

It is just not the rich that are worried, it is ALL OF US we all have a dog in this fight.

A good first start might be to get our priorities in order.  Define what is truly important and what is not.  Take a hard look at what is hanging us all out to dry and what we need to do in order to get by.  Media pundits call the state we’re in the “new normal.” What they mean is that we get used to things as they are. And if we don’t exactly get comfortable with the status quo, we feel like David in a battle against Goliath. 09-05-12 MadeInAmerica The numbers will bear me out.  We are 17th in math scores, 24th in the world on Health Care, we just okay’ed $155 million per year to Afghanistan for diesel, gasoline and jet fuel (for the next five years), this in a country where most of the population rides a !@#@# donkey to town.

You get a vote on that one … didn’t think so.

All we produce is debt … we are not going to get a second chance in Silicone Valley and everything we drill and bring to the surface, goes oversea’s to light up someone else’s house.  We are slowly eroding into nothing but a lousy third world debt ridden Democracy of losers.  Trust me, no one will be willing to follow a parked car, but they will all line up to pick our bones in the end.

As the fiscal showdown continues—with a little more than a month before a series of onerous automatic federal spending cuts and tax hikes go into effect—our national values and priorities are once again being tested. On the campaign trail, the president repeatedly called for directing to infrastructure the federal spending saved by ending the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, asking for those funds to support “nation building right here at home.”

Only one week before the election, he laid out his legislative agenda for a second term: addressing the federal deficit first, then moving on to infrastructure improvement and immigration reform. It’s clear that the president and many members of Congress understand that at the heart of the world’s largest and most innovative economies are advanced infrastructure networks.  So why do we continue to pump our assets and what little cash we can borrow and send it overseas?

When it all comes tumbling down because of apathy and neglect by our elected officials and the general public, all the rich people in the world will not be enough to save your sorry ass.  Let’s get honest and start reporting it the way it is, and not the way “we believe it to be.”

Tax that.

Land Of Opportunity … If you don’t live here.

Your Tax Dollars At Work … Did you know that you are paying for children that live in Mexico, to the tune of billions of dollars in relief, because of an I.R.S. loophole?  Well, you areWouldn’t it be nice, to sit down in April, and list not only YOUR children, but your niece and nephews as dependents, who do not live with you, who are not even in this country, and then in return get a huge tax return?

Now we come to how much money we are we talking about here?  Would you believe, all of this, which has been in place and being abused for over ten years, is going down the tubes each year to the tune of $4.2 billion dollars (annually) and that 22 million undocumented illegals are currently being shown on the rolls taking full advantage of this Tax Code Loophole.  A loophole that the video says “the I.R.S. is unwilling to fix.”

Sound too good to be true, well unfortunately, it isn’t.

Free Stuff

It  is time to put a stop to this madness.  I have never heard this said as plain or as well.  For lack of a better word this is Class War at its best.  And it has finally eroded over time (and this new administration) to a point where it is clearly visible.  Another thing I am hearing lately (almost to the point of being sick of) is the word “Entitlement.”  Every time I turn on the television or go to the net it is all over the media … Entitlement.

Here it is in a nutshell.

The folks who are getting the free stuff, don’t like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff, can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.   And … The folks who are paying for the free stuff, want the free stuff to stop, and the the folks who are getting the free stuff, want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!  Now … The people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff, have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff, that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff, are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.  So … the people who are GETTING the free stuff, have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff, by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff, and giving them the free stuff in the first place.  We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this.

All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason? The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.  The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, some 231 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that in 2012.  Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Election 2012 is coming.

A Nation of Sheep breeds a government of wolves.

Let’s take a stand

Professional Politicians:  Gone.

Overseas corporations and non-tax paying entities:  Gone.

Borders: Closed.

Language: English only

Culture: Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Attitude:  No More Political Correctness crap.

Drug Free: Mandatory Drug Screening before Welfare.

NO freebies to: Non-Citizens.

What will YOU do?

Like President Ronald Reagan said:

“Ask yourself, are you any better off than were you were four years ago?”

Republican or Democrat makes no difference, it is time to send these dirt bags and all their lobbyists buddies a clear message.

Change means things are different … not the same old crap.

Lamm On Immigration

Mexi-Merica

This is going to be a little bit hard to write, without sounding like “so much sour grapes” but I am going to give it a shot anyway.

We ate Chinese today, there is a little place on the south side of town, been eating there for 15-20 years.  We have watched the owners’ children grow up, go thru school and on to college, seen the place change decor a couple of times over the years.  We have been good, steady customers of this nice small restaurant for quite a long time.

Because we had moved to the country, we had not eaten there in a couple of years, and as luck would have it, today we found ourselves there in the midst of the lunch crowd at a little booth in the back of the room.  The food as always was super and we were hungry so it made for a good mix.  In some ways, it was almost like before, old home week, call it what you want.

Except for one thing, and that is this.

“No one in the room was speaking English, the entire restaurant had been taken over by people of Mexican and/or Hispanic origin.  And no one was speaking the King’s English.  Which is, if you are like me, a person who doesn’t speak the language or understand Spanish, well, it was just a lot of noise.  Unfortunately, it kind of took away from the meal and it was upsetting.”

It appears that I am now officially in the minority in this country, a white, tax paying member of society.  I am also slowly but surely being run out or pushed aside by more than one race of people who were not born here.  Mexican’s and Asian’s are now the two fastest growing segments of our society in America.  They are also a lot different from what I am used to.

The Mexicans are proud of their country, culture and lifestyle and try to preserve it as much as possible even when they are living anywhere other than Mexico. The Mexican Americans however don’t have to make much effort as the neighboring countries have quite a lot in common.

So, the Mexican American culture is a blend of the culture of both countries, while distinctly being Mexican. This cultural blend stands out amongst many other ethnic groups living in the USA.  Now on the other hand, the American Culture, such as it is, fragmented, diverse, and very much mixed, doesn’t stand much of a chance of survival in this day and age.

Mexicans while very big on family life (the center of their culture really) are doing well and thriving.  While on the American side of the scale, they are divorcing in record numbers and the family unit is quickly disappearing in this country.

A lot of these people are being provided benefits for free, all they had to do is show up.  I had to serve six years in the military in order to qualify for some of mine (the very few I have left).  Most of us had to go to school, graduate and learn a skill before going to work.  All they had to do is cross what was or is basically an open border.  The truly sad thing is the way they are exploited by those who hold the purse strings, and often, entered into almost involuntary servitude (wage slavery) by American businessmen.

Only a few pay taxes, in my home state only one in five bother to purchase car insurance, they quickly sign up for social programs and assistance, not only for themselves, but their entire family.  In other words, they don’t play by the rules, take more than they give back.  Now I know that sounds harsh, but it is a proven reality in this country and has been this way for a long time.

You know, if you take a frog and dump him in a pot of hot water, he will jump right out.  But take the same frog, place him in a pan of cold water, then apply the heat slowly just a little at a time, and he will stay in the pot until he dies.

Why?

“Because you changed his environment, a little bit at a time, not all at once.”

Same thing here.  Inch by inch, slowly but surely, the fabric of this country is being re-arranged.  The signage is slowly shifting to Spanish first and English second, one milepost at a time, this country is going down the tubes (the America that I grew up in and loved).

Today, while sitting in this noisy crowded little restaurant it came home to haunt me.  I am slowly becoming a stranger in my own land, and of course, I resent it.  This is no longer an immigration issue, this is colonization of a country, plain and simple.

And I honestly feel I have to wonder about this one simple fact of life.

In the end, will there be any room left for me?

In The Dog House

Why is it Christmas music sticks in your mind, for days at a time?  I hear one song, and I am trapped!  To stumble blindly thru the day humming some insistent tune, locked into my mind, tighter than an Investment Bankers bonus payment.  Christmas season is in full swing, decorations are everywhere you look, along with the long ago abandoned political signs that never got picked up by a winner or a loser for that matter.

So here we sit, almost the end of the year, what do we have for you?

The good ole days?  The Rich get richer, you get, well you know the rest of that don’tcha.  Greed is Good, Wall Street is back, watch for the DVD at Walmart soon.  Do you know who the most arrested Hollywood Star might be?  First guess would be Charlie Sheen, he is always in the news, but that would be wrong.  It is his Dad, Martin Sheen, a political activist.

Back to the rant, I am sorry.

What has this year given us?  Separation of Church and state, Drill Baby Drill, Full body scanning, Health Care ….. Good Luck.  I watched this Sarah Palin does Alaska thing the other night, Yummy Mummy shoots a moose.  They say that this is just a regular show, it has no political overtones, just good family fun entertainment.

Yeah?  That is kind of like saying, “The Biggest Loser isn’t about fat people.”

Our National Mood is changing again, one more time, the American Landscape gets a face lift.  We seem to swing like the pendulum on an old wooden clock, first this way and then, the other.  It has gotten so bad that now California welfare recipients are in for hard times.  Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger banned the use of state-issued debt cards recently.  They are no longer honored as payment for psychics, medical marijuana shops, bingo parlors, tattoo parlors, and cruise lines.  All of which have shown up in the past as businesses where the recipients are spending their benefits.

All of this stinks of course, government run amuck as usual.

How about this?  An Ohio sixth-grader has been given detention for farting on the school bus.  Christian Summers, 11, says the flatulence was involuntary, and thinks it “pretty dumb” that he was sentenced to detention.  (What other kind of answer would you expect from an eleven year-old?)  The bus driver, maintains that Summers’ stinky wind breaking was intentional, noting on the detention slip that “while the others scream, he laughs.”  Personally, I think detention should only come after the child is heard telling someone on the bus “to pull his finger.”  That to me, indicates pre-meditated-flatulence behavior and therefore, punishment.

Well Boys & Girls I see the morning sun is breaking the horizon, I need to get crackin on all those little nuances of life that just make my day, thanks for allowing me to take time to share this week with you.  Here is something for you to take with you this day, all you men who wait until the last minute to get that special someone something for Christmas:
