[03-01]  Bad Day In Black Rock Shades of Big Brother … DeJaVue … Woe Is Me! Trisha Stapleton Olgesby has deleted my stuff and of course, I am madder than a wet hen about it, but there isn’t anything that I can do about it.  You see, this person, Trisha Stapleton Olgesby is an administrator and it never pays to piss off an administrator [...]

[03-01] Fill ‘er up Here it comes, just as I said it would.  Last year I wrote several articles on this using less motor fuel will lead to unexpected tax shortfalls and increased taxes eventually (in essence you cannot ever satisfy the tax hogs in government) and it has come to pass, or rather, it is trying to come [...]

[03-02]  Good News Good News!  I have something interesting to tell you. What I have discovered is this.  Change is the first necessity of progress, and I have recently came to the shocking realization, I desperately need one. Time to find my “Happy Place” as Frasier Crane would say and get in it.  Seek out and locate a method to [...]

[03-03]  Back To Basics This post is guaranteed to be 100% free of political rant type speech.  It is however loaded with bovine excrement (BS) and a few political opinions (observations) caution is therefore advised. The all too familiar strains of “Troubadour” by George Straight, are on my radio this morning, and I wax nostalgic for what a lot of [...]

[03-03] The Look You ever get the look?  You know what I am talking about here, that look you got the first time in your life when you were a kid and your parents were upset with you?  When your spouse saw you do something really stooooopid or is a bit put out with you?  The way your [...]

[03-04]  Dont Blame Me Today, this morning, is my third or fourth day of no political comment or ranting (I personally prefer the term commenting) and I feel and look just great!  So once again, you are free from the rigors and the turmoil inflicted upon you by my extremely poor social upbringing and the lack of good writing [...]

[03-04] Not So News The news is big news right now. Catchy huh?  I thought up that one all by myself I did I did.  No news here, Skywriter and TrueBlueTexan are currently covering the news or rather the apparent lack of it on their sites.  Check ‘em out.  Both of these girls are doing a cracker jack job of [...]

[03-05]  Yummy – Yummy Police in Washington state said they’ve captured three people who bought Girl Scout Cookies with fake money.  Man, what is this world coming to?  When the scout leader took the receipts to the bank to deposit them she was told that she had two fake twenties. Then, later on she found an additional $60 worth of [...]

[03-05] Answer Up I am reading The Daily Waffle this morning, Breakfast Blogging: Opinion(ated) Scribbling for No Apparent Reason and I see: “You are intelligent, witty, clever, and just a tiny bit cruel. You always seem to say the right thing at the right time. Your way with words is natural, effortless. Sometimes you can inadvertently insult people [...]

[03-06]  Boring and unimportant A man who wrongly spent 19 years in prison for rape is set to receive a $1.4 million settlement of a federal lawsuit.  DNA evidence cleared him and the city which had him prosecuted has cut him a check for $300,000 and owes him $1.1 million more.  This figures out to close to $58,000 per [...]

[03-07] In Your Dreams Weather is starting to get cooperative, and I am surely ready.  Kind of nice being able to tool around town with the window down.  Wintertime In Oklahoma sucks, and I am truly hoping this is my “last winter here” (more on that later) and I don’t have to endure this —- anymore. Friday night in the [...]

[03-09]  Mandatory Options The middle of last week I got into it with some folks on another site, but that has settled down or rather, just dried up and gone away, and I am glad that is over.  I am however disappointed as hell, because I got thoroughly tromped in the deal and I did not get a fair shake  [...]

[03-10] Sorry Charlie Ready for the latest email rumor?  Here it is, hot of the press, just came in yesterday afternoon. Like Tuna? Here you go, follow the yellow brick road (federal gold).  Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home district includes San Francisco.  Star-Kist Tuna’s headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi’s home district. Star-Kist is owned by [...]

[03-11]  HOME ALONE Find myself looking at my tax statement on the house this morning, and of course, “it rubs me wrong.”  I have been accused of talking too much about issues that are not of Oklahoma and of course, being boring. So this morning, I have something different as your every day surprise.  There are confirmations of an [...]

[03-12] One Year We Are One Year Old Today It hardly seems possible, but we have been at this for one full year today.  It seems to me, that a virtual ocean of time, has passed during this period.  We have just about boxed the compass on every subject in the world, some fun, some not so fun, others [...]

[03-13] New Location Looking up at the calendar and I notice it is Friday the 13th, and it occurs to me “what an appropriate day for Mad Dog Bernie Madoff’s first day in jail.”  He got locked up yesterday, but I think he should have went to a real penitentiary and not this Club Med crap with the [...]

[03-14] Mr. Gorsky Here is the email and the photo of the week. ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON. HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, “THAT’S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND,” WERE TELEVISED TO [...]

[03-15]  The Worry Tree I am watching this foreclosure media piece over the weekend and I saw something that was so sad, it was a little five year old boy, tugging at the pants-leg of a female sheriff’s deputy and he looked up and said, “How is Santa Claus going to find me now?” Man, that just kind of [...]

[03-16]  Pink Hat Ladies Well, I am back, didya miss me.  Didya is a Southern Word Y’all … For instance, “Didya bring the fishing poles withya?” That would be a good example there. There is a group of ladies here in town, I believe they are a church group, but I am not sure.  They call themselves the Pink Hat [...]

[03-18] Clear Blue Sky Early in the morning, it is cool, not cold mind you, but cool.  That is nice, spring is in the air, it cannot be long now, but there is the distinct odor of burnt grass in the air, and another wildfire is taking its toll somewhere.  Very dry here, I cannot remember for the life [...]

[03-20] Trisha’s Bar & Grill I saw this thing yesterday on the news where this flight attendant does a “rap boarding” announcement on the plane, and everyone seems to think this is soooooo cool.  Just what I need, shell out $400 for a plane ticket and have to sit through some Jethro singing rap emergency rules to me on the [...]

[03-22]  Flush The Rush Bunch Tuned in the radio for some soft tunes to soothe my ravaged soul, and I hear Rush.  What a profound waste of air time this is. Like my grandfather used to say, “An empty barrel will make the most noise.” I am tired of Rush, Hannity, Imus, Ann Coulter, Larry King … I am tired [...]

[03-24]  Today’s Cheeky Monkey Now this is what I call paying attention to details.  Gainesville, Florida police officers wrote seven tickets for a BMW that had been illegally parked for two weeks.  A neighbor finally called police, who found a dead body in the back seat of the car. Not long ago I was chastised severely for pointing out that [...]

[03-25]  Hard Wired For Change “I don’t believe I understand everything that I think that I supposedly heard about what I thought he said, that concerned me, or my spousal unit.”  But I did watch. President Obama was speaking for forty minutes last night, and then afterwards, some dummy tells me what it was he said, for thirty more.  I [...]

[03-26] North On Seventy-Four An easy day today, not a whole lot on my plate. Took an old chair and leaned it up against the wall, listened to the Turtle Doves singing their mournful song in the trees. A time to reflect, on the lazy hazy days of summer.Spring just around the corner. A prime candidate [...]

[03-27]  The Great Pretender Received three disturbing emails this week, which isn’t a record of any kind really, but never the less, I could have lived without all three of them it seems to me. #1) Was a picture of Nancy’s breasts I took last Saturday, sent to me from their I-Phone. #2) Was one telling me that my webpage SUCKED [...]

[03-30] Another Mantic Interlude This post will be “One Hundred percent A.I.G. free” and there will be no mention of Rush Limbaugh, Larry King or Jane Fonda. Now I ask you … “Where could you get a better deal than that?” To all my rowdy friends in the Internet world, I hope that you had a great weekend, and that things [...]

[03-31]  Whacked Out World Now I have to admit, I saw something yesterday I never thought I would see.  I saw an ambidextrous cellphone user.  She was driving down the Interstate, weaving in and out, almost drove right over the top of her.  And when I did find a suitable amount of space to pass her, I swung out [...]

jerry-canHere it comes, just as I said it would.  Last year I wrote several articles on this using less motor fuel will lead to unexpected tax shortfalls and increased taxes eventually (in essence you cannot ever satisfy the tax hogs in government) and it has come to pass, or rather, it is trying to come to pass.

We have pointed it out on numerous occasions during 2008 what was alleged to be headed our way.  One post in particular hits it right on the money, it is Give Up – Surrender it was written last April.

They say the mark of a true prophet is how much of his prophecy comes to pass, well this might be of interest to some.

There be Dragons … Raise the gas tax

At both the state and federal level, raising the gas tax is the new third rail in politics. California jettisoned it from the budget, even though a 12 cent increase was estimated to bring in over $2 billion.

Now this panel recommends it (ten cent increase in the federal tax), but it will never see the light of day.  So some more convoluted plan to install GPS and clock units IN EVERY CAR to track vehicle miles is proposed.  And different types of roads will result in different charges, time of day will factor into it, etc…  And to assuage privacy concerns, the only thing the unit will spit out is what the latest charge is.  Sooooooo, no way for the driver to see how the amount was arrived at, or challenge it.

Sounds like a very straightforward plan, with no chance for fraud or failure of course.  Typical government.  The apparatus for collecting the gas tax is ALREADY IN PLACE, but that can’t be increased because it is politically unpopular.  So lets rely on unproven technology to take the money so people can’t blame us.

C’mon – how stupid are we?  (Perhaps I don’t want an answer to that question)

A tax is a tax.  If the roads cost that much to maintain, either some must be closed, or we all pay more.  I think since road damage/wear is directly influenced by vehicle weight, that a “maintenance” tax should be charged at sale based on gross weight.  Also a type of “gas guzzler” tax.  I love how the idea that we are addicted to oil is popular, but anything that might cause any type of “pain” to change that is met with angry voices.

So like it or not … it is here, this is the now, it is, as predicted, here.  So again, the question might be:  “C’mon – how stupid are we?  Are we going to sit still and allow them to gouge us even more?

It is nice to see that I said it was coming, and low and behold, it is here.  I am now going to withdraw “two atta-boys from petty cash” for a job well done, walk on down to the mall had have me some fun.

Kind of nice to win one every now and then.

Shades of Big Brother … DeJaVue … Woe Is Me!

Trisha Stapleton Olgesby has deleted my stuff and of course, I am madder than a wet hen about it, but there isn’t anything that I can do about it.  You see, this person, Trisha Stapleton Olgesby is an administrator and it never pays to piss off an administrator.

Last week I used an euphemism to describe the State of Louisiana, and I said it was the State of Lousy-anna.  There is a reason for this, a long time ago, an ocean of time, I was in Louisiana and I got stopped by a cop on my Harley Davidson Sportster.  I wasn’t breaking any law at the time, I wasn’t bothering anyone, I just was riding thru this little parish minding my own business and he pulled me over.

Believe it or not, it was sort of reminiscent of one of those “Rambo things.”

Now as things go, this endeavor turned out to be not so pleasant for either one of us, short story?  I got three days in jail (for absolutely nothing) and a “free haircut” from the State of Louisiana.  So to this day, I am not endeared to the state of Lousy-anna, have no use for the place, if America needed an enema, this would be in my opinion the exact point to start.  I consider Louisiana the armpit of America and freely admit to driving around it on the way to Florida and the South.  Swing a dead-cat in any direction and you will hit enough people who hate Okie-Homa to fill a semi, so I guess it all evens out in the end.  There is, and has never been, any perfect place to live.

But this piece is about capricious unwarranted censorship, I digress, sorry.

Which brings us to this point, I should not have to explain “everything that I write to every Tom, Dick and Harry who comes along.” If I choose to use some colorful metaphor or otherwise.

Well, not knowing (or caring for that matter) that Trisha Stapleton Oglesby lived in Shreveport, La I posted the article on this website and the fur began to fly!  I also did not know that Trisha Stapleton Oglesby was so narrow minded and so fickle that she would take it upon herself to delete my material, but she did.  I did know that she had recently spent some time in a local hospital, where I suspect they removed her sense of humor among other things.

This Alumni site for my old high school chums is an “invite only” site, which means “only those invited are allowed access to the site” and I had erroneously assumed it was a “open public forum.”  Turns out it is, as long as you do not cross some invisible line drawn in the sand by Trisha Stapleton Oglesby.

When I first arrived on the scene, a year and one-half ago, this site was as dead as a ghost town.  No visible traffic, a few members kibitzing between each other and that was about it.

No brag, just plain fact, I helped breath new life into the place by posting some 80-100 articles and generating interest and adding to the mix.  And it was enjoyable, at times amusing, a good thing.

Now here is the rub.

When you come here to Creative Endeavors, most of it is well defined in the comments section and the site rules, if people take the time to read it (most don’t), they understand that this is my house, and certain things will not be tolerated.  I am up front with it and honest about it.  If you find yourself standing on shaky ground, it isn’t my fault, I put it all out there and upfront.

Now this Alumni site has no such rule or instruction, and Trisha Stapleton Oglesby bless her heart, who was instrumental in setting it up and getting it started, kudo’s for that, an accomplishment worthy of note now believes she owns it.

BUT IN ALL FAIRNESS TO THE CONTRIBUTORS IF SHE IS GOING TO TREAT IT AS HER OWN PERSONAL SITE … THEN IT MIGHT BE WORTH NOTING THAT FACT … SOMEWHERE.

Because of this one unfortunate incident, I have voluntarily relegated myself to the position of reader, not contributor and/or commenter.  I can not honestly support a site which is at the whims of some person with either low self-esteem or narrow minded opinion, especially when that person is the administrator of the site and carries the power to permit or destroy my work.

Believe it or not, as I sit here and write this, I have this tune floating around my head.  It is an old country tune, “Sweet Marie LaBeau” or something like that.  It is about a witch who lived deep in the swamps and biyou’s of Lousy-anna.  Every now and then some poor unsuspecting soul would come across her and he would fill her ear with sweet nothings, and then afterwards spurn her affections and raise her ire.

She would reach out with her black magic, and poof, “another good man goes down!”

It would be nice, if these so-called “lines that we sometime cross” had some definition, so we might know who, what, where, when and why they are there.  That way those of us, the creative and amusing amongst the herd, know where they are and are given a choice to freely ignore them or abide by them.

Yeah that would be nice.

This is nothing new, like a fly at a picnic I have been known to buzz around and irritate the fizz out of folks, so they from time to time swat me.  F.Y.I. (Heads Up) So stick a pin in the map, another place I can no longer voice my opinion has been located.  I am of course, “b’side myself because of it.”

If you care to read the piece that started it all it is Are We Having Fun Yet it was as usual full of a lot of stuff and was not a solely directed attack on anyone in the state of Louisiana or the Pelican State and it did not raise any noticeable attention nationwide.

I will now of course, slink back into the Federal Witness Protection Plan and mind my own business.  All you uptight administrators need to lighten up …

Step out of your comfort zone and live a little.
