Baracks House

Filed under: Uncategorized — ldsrr91 @ 11:45 pm

Barack’s House

(Parody of Brick House by The Commodores)

Ow! It’s The White House
We finally might be
Just letting a bro hang out
Obama’s White House
He might paint it black
Put a hoop out back
Rush Limbaugh has a heart attack

Ow! Barack’s House
Well come November everybody knows
This is how the story goes

Obama beats John McCain
Then he rolls on up the moving van
Yeah, Yeah! How can he lose
To some old white dude
50 states
November 4 2008 he’s a winning man

His crib’s The White House
Yeah! Thanks to Oprah Winfrey
He’s been letting his soul hang out
It’ll be Barack’s house
First Lady’s got back
That’s a fact
You better not talk no smack Yow

Chick a change chick a chane change
Beat McCain with a cane now
Getting down getting down now
Getting down

Ow! Barack in The House
Yeah! Not just for whitey
We’re letting the bro hang out
Barack’s house
Yeah! He’s the one
The chosen one
We’ll move him into
Washington

  2. Hi, Don,
    I am glad to see you are choosing to keep your blog YOUR blog. I know there’s tough things for our citizens to learn to talk about with each other, and it has to start somewhere; even if it begins with an argument and some harsh words. At least it gets a conversation started; the volume can always get adjusted later.

    Thanks for your support; it means a lot.
    Cheers,
    Jess

  7. I don’t see what people liked about this. As a person of color, I’m happy that this country voted the RIGHT person into office. Of course I’m happy he’s Black, but I’m more interested in the issues and what he plans to do to correct the wrongs that have plagued this country for eight long years. I vote for the best person, not the color of their skin. If we were too all think like that, this truly would be the GREATEST country on earth.

  11. McCain for President, was the world insane?
    He tried to play us like a video game.
    No more unbearable years of the same.
    What we needed, McCain couldn’t monopolize
    For two hundred years we were downsized

    Barack Obama a change for our lives to blend.
    A new day’s dawning, a future for our children
    is like a breath of fresh air, we showed them how much we care.All races, creed and colors we are akin
    A masterful plan, we had to win, win, win.

    A grandmother of many.

  12. What was all the hoopla about?
    I think the song is a great cover of a good ol song! The lyrics seem ok to me! I am an African American and like NHill wrote we (US of A) voted for who we thought was the right person for the job!!! As Mya Angelou put when intervied by Harry Smith “We have finally grown up”. The fact that our new President to be appears to be a loving husband, Great Dad and smart just makes it all the better! Ok his skin color is different, when are we gonna get to the part about loving each other! We have made the world so much more complicated with hate!! I really don’t think this was the idea God had when he put us here!!
    Thats my 2cents!
    Thanks!
    Make today count, God is counting on you!!!

  25. I would like to know what Pres. Elect Obama would have to say about such a song that depicts the other side of his heritage. You need to understand Majority of Afro-American has some White in their genes. I am proud of all of my heritage for if it was not for my great grandmother who was white and my grandfather who is part indian and black I would not be here. Obama had a destiny. We all do. I think reading this is a joke.
    =====================================
    “I think reading this is a joke.” … Precisely, that is what a parody is defined as.

  26. President/Elect-Barack obama has made history and to all those naysayers understand, the intelligent man standing before us on the throne will be the example, of what african americans look like. We will no longer need sports stars as role models.
    Furthermore when will the media start following my lead and announce this winning candidate as PRESIDENT OR PRESIDENT ELECT………….BARACK OBAMA, just a thought people.
    =======================
    We agree with “most of what you said” except for the “standing before us on a throne” part. America is not a Kingdom, it is a Democracy. Mr. Obama was elected to an office, not a throne. Thanks for stopping by.

  28. Hey Gang: We have registered a new domain name today, it is now BoxcarOkie.com and that will automatically link you to Creative Endeavors.

    When I first registered the site, not knowing exactly how to do it I chose something that “I could remember” which wasn’t all that cool really. I needed something that was shorter, easier to remember and this is where BoxcarOkie.com comes in.

    Most people do not remember LDSRR91 which stood for my name, retired railroader, 1991 year of my retirement. Now it is so simple: http://www.boxcarOkie.com and it takes you right to the site.

    Hopefully this will not cause a lot of problems for anyone, and at the same time, help us to increase traffic and the readership. This may or may not affect some RSS Feeds, I am not sure about that.

    Something to amuse you on the home page: Showing The Love

  29. What the people should realize is waht has been in place before Obama was elected he could not possibly correct in 6 months or a year. You have to understand somethings that’s in place can’t be undone. It will take time and please don’t be so hard what God has put into place no one can undo. It was just time for change.You here some say let’s see what will happen in 6 months. Well start with some trust first allow him to get into the House before he’s thrown out. I say God be with you he seems to be a God fearing man. He surrounds hisself with what appears to be a powerful people. BE BLESSED!

  31. I think that was a beautiful song and I am so happy to know that we have a black president in office. Lets not forget that God is good and he does every thing in his time. I believe that Obama was put in office right on time. I pray that he will do what God leads him to do and God will do the rest. Read Judges 4 in the bible and see what you see. God does nothing on Accident. God bless everyone!

    Comment by Charmaine — November 24, 2008 @ 1:04 pm

  32. Everyone please remember that Obama did not win because of the black vote, he won because of a diverse vote. Let us not play the cards that we have come so far to get away from. Yes, be proud that we finally have an African American president who represents diversity in ethnicity and be proud that we finally have a real voice, but do not let egoism blind us to the true matters at hand. Please let us stop the racism. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, those who are happy about it and those who will not embrace it. From a positive African American woman.

We are all God’s children and we are citizens of the us we have just as much right to be excited about whatever we want to be excited about as anyone else..negative comments should be kept to themselves…that’s what’s wrong with this world now the negativity and ignorance and evil of man..this is a beautiful thing..let us all enjoy the divine beauty of it..it don’t matter if he turns out to be bad or good its the principle of him becoming president that is so awesome

    ===========================
    You should be afraid of them all, not just one or two, they are out to bury you. isn’t that something the Russians used to say? Over 400,000 campaign messages were put out, and that is on the “losing side” just think what they bombarded the average voter with. It is no wonder people were not only disillusioned but also afraid.

    They will turn on the people that elected them in a Hong Kong Second: “In 2004, when I was flying my Blackhawk helicopter north of Baghdad and I got hit with that rocket-propelled grenade that blew up between my legs and took them off — and almost took off my right arm — the only thing that saved me was my buddies and the armor that I was wearing. …”

    In his six years in the United States Senate, Saxby Chambliss has voted against providing armor for our troops. He has been against providing armored vehicles for our troops. And then, when my buddies and I came home, he has been against the G.I. Bill.

    Just because they claim to be a war hero, doesn’t always make them right

  53. I’m a big Barack fan/supporter. However, I think everyone needs to look ahead to the future (i.e., 2012). In my opinion, the extreme arrogance displayed by some supporters can come back to hurt us when he runs for the 2012 presidency. We all are over joyed by “our” big win, but lets not be foolish and lessen or hurt “our” chances for a 2nd term. Any cerebral person should know that it’s going to take more than 4yrs to clean up the mess this country is currently in…
    ==============================
    The voice of reason, kind of nice, hearing someone that can color it the right hue. Too much of this euphoria nonsense going on, and we need to get back to “basic’s in this country” if we want to truly survive as a nation. I am not all that sure that this mess can be cleaned up in four, six or even eight years. It surely isn’t off to a good start (this banking fiasco) and it is going to be a long row to hoe as you mentioned. Thanks for stoppin by.

    =========================================
    Okay, fun is fun, but this is getting kind of tired. The White House was NOT built entirely on the backs of slaves as a great many of you imply. Europeans and slaves built this national monument, there was a contest to design it and an Irish American was the final winner. That hardly fits the collar of a slave builder right there.

    It was not a “one race deal” and it needs to be addressed. Perhaps it is time to stop making more of this than there actually is. No one “high jacked” anything …

    Check your history … You won’t find what you are implying, because it is not there. The Presidents House was built by a mixture of many folks and not just one segment of American society in particular. Sorry.

Taking it one step further, you could bury the man under a MOUNTAIN OF SHOES and he still would not get it, nor would most of those who work with him.

  74. First, loved this song…it’s a joke put to a great song many Amerians know.

    A reader asked, “when someone is of mixed race, white and black asian and black etc. why are they always considered black?”……….My personal opinion is that this was a carry over from slavery. When a slave owner wanted more slaves (or wealth) he or his sons raped the slaves….easy solution if one drop of black blood = black. After slavery is was used as a tool to divide and oppress non whites.

    I always wanted to meet a brown skinned person with one Caucasian parent and one African American/Black parent who claimed to be white but obviously had other lineage. This person could kill the whole notion of one drop black blood = black.
    ==================================================================
    Sounds like a good explanation to me, I didn’t have a clue, and for the most part, still don’t. But I am confident that there are people out there that do, and that is good enough for me.

    Most of the time, they put this stuff up, but they seldom return for the reply, I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting on an answer.

    Glad you enjoyed your visit, come back, tell all your friends, we are trying to hit 1 million visitors in one year (March 2009) help us out.

    Okay, if you see it that way.

  78. I loved the song but remember that millions of whites fought for Barack to become President, campaigned for and voted for Barack as well. Do the man a favor and let’s try to at least respect each other and what we all did together to get Barack elected. We all need each other to do this thing people.

    Comment by Deborah — December 22, 2008 @ 3:41 pm

  79. How creative you are! But, somehow, I don’t find this to be an appropriate tribute to the soon to be President of these United States. It’s cute but in my opinion not suitable. Let’s be proud, yes, but perhaps its time to create songs that are more representative and supportive of the philosophical stance that Mr. Obama has. Just my opinion. We who are African American ought to show our respect and not just use the words. Somehow, I don’t think this song is respectful….Again, just my opinion.

  80. As my new leader, I give him and his wife all the respect deserving of a couple of their caliber and position. I am proud ,not only because he is black, but also because it appears that he has a finger on the pulse of the people. I’m tired of the brick house attitude. Why can’t a song be written about her mind. These jokes and songs that are negative only take away from who we are as Kings and Queens. Just my opinion
    =======================================
    I am the king of my castle (and I have my wife’s permission to say that!) what in the world does any of this have to do with a parody? Give it a rest.

    Comment by Carol — December 24, 2008 @ 8:31 pm

  81. the song is very funny, so what someone change the song if Mccain was president an they changed a white song it would only be funny to others. Now we have a new president an he’s a black man a change is going to come GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yeah? Sez who? Like it or not, you are definitely in the minority on that one sister, over a quarter of a million people have viewed this song, and an overwhelming majority of them liked it and found it amusing. Sorry.

  85. This song is right on. I don’t think the song was too racist, it’s really how black people feel. We have to work super hard for positions that are just given to other people- unfortunately. So to see a person of color in the white house is very moving to us.

    “Everything will be fine in 2009″

    Most everyone likes the song, a few find it discouraging or racist, but the vast majority see it as it is, a good parody and nothing more. It will be interesting to see what it does on the 20th of the month when Mr. Obama is sworn in, I am thinking it will go off the charts.

    Wow! You scared me, I looked at that the name “Michael R. Jackson” and for a brief moment, I thought the “gloved one” had come to visit my site. That would be more monumental to me than a box of Margaret & Helen home-made cookies!

    We put up another one today. Raps Not Musak (audio) It appears to be a real barn burner too. Moved over to the top post spot in a matter of a few hours, and that is rare, very rare.

  92. I hate it….it’s totally “racist”, even if a brother did write it….and plus, it’s so stereotypical….Obama stands for change, not the same ol’ slapstick, steppin’ fetch it, soul brother number one, saggin a** thug or boss ( ) mentality….it’s what we as Americans are trying to get away from….Roo Roo
    ==================================
    No, really, Roo-Roo, tell us what you think. Really.

    Comment by BlackOut — January 8, 2009 @ 9:55 am

  93. I wonder how many of your African American readers would be offended if they were referred to as “Blackey” by a white person performing a parody. Somehow I don’t think they would be so quick to say how wonderful it made them feel.
    =============================================
    I don’t understand your beef. What does this have to do with anything?

    This site has 30-40 parodies on it, no one complains about any of them other than Baracks House. We have parodies on cross-dressing, homosexuality, alcohol abuse, Bush, McCain, Hillary, you name it.

    But instead everyone wants to “nit pick this ONE song.”

    So here it is, the word “blackey” isn’t in there, old white dude is, and that is that. There is nothing racist about it. It is what it is … Until someone comes by to try and make it into something it is not.

    Give it a rest.

  98. To the inquisitive Marilyn,
    You asked why we seem to “make black” any individual who is of mixed race solely because they are part black. Historically, this is what white people have done since we were brought to this country.During slavery, there were differnces made between purely African slaves and those fathered slave children fathered by whites. I believe this mind set was set in place by whites and adopted by blacks many years ago.This is not to say,things should not change, but this is a cultural truth that this country adopted during a horrendous part of our history. Want to change it?Great! Start by asking this question of multiethnicity to your parents or grandparents and see how they respond.I think you will find their response to be diffferent than yours.I believe you have to start with white america, not question blacks.We have lived with this unpleasant history for years and have managed to overcome no matter what you call us.

  99. Wow….. I’m lovin it! What’s wrong with a lil music to accompany one’s thoughts, or should I say many of our thoughts. I plan on sharing this one for sure!

    We do have a little social redeeming qualities and every now and then, we give something back. We actually have a 11th grade teacher that routinely lifts some of the articles and uses them in history/civic’s in his classroom as lesson or study guides. Have at it and thanks for stopping by.

  102. I am glad that there is excitement out there concerning our new Presidents, nevertheless, we need to remember that the man is the President of the United States of America. Not just Black America, not just White America, but AMERICA!!! Let’s give him that respect and his wife as well. I believe we, as black people need to be even more respectful. Talking about the man and his wife, or singing in this case, if very disrespectful.

    Comment by Mark Taplette — January 20, 2009 @ 8:43 am

  103. I don’t think singing about the president and first lady is disrespectful What we say when we sing – the message – is what is disrespectful or respectful and in this case I don’t think there is any disrespect to our president. Also, white America has always voted and changed the rules and fixed the votes to suit them. Please, let’s give ourselves a little break. President Barack Obama is for every American and he is the first president to ever really be so. That’s all I have to say about that. Peace.
